Need an identifier for your simplex IRLP node?  Try out my CW identifier.  It works on RH9, Fedora Core 3/5, Ubuntu, and CentOS nodes...

It's compatible with both version 2 AND 3 IRLP boards!  For those that are using v3 boards and an AUX line in conjunction with the PTT line, kk7av-cwid supports that configuration as well and will take advantage of the AUX line specified.  It's a fully user configurable ID'er.  My CW identifier does not require any other external binaries to produce the CW!  It uses built-in utilities that are present on most all IRLP nodes.  It's completely customizable in that you can adjust the various parameters that make up the tone, speed, spacing, and volume!  It also supports the playback of user-defined wav files which can be used for the id, instead of sending CW.  The latest version can be downloaded here:

http://rob.pectol.com/irlp/cwid.tgz

There is an included INSTALL.txt file to help you get it up and running on your node.  However, the simplest method to install it is by logging into your node as root user and then typing the following, *EXACTLY* as listed, at the command prompt:

wget rob.pectol.com/irlp/cwid_install.sh && sh ./cwid_install.sh

This will download and run an installer script which will take care of everything for you.  You'll literally have a CW id'er up and running on your node in less than 2 minutes!  This method can also be used to un-install kk7av-cwid if desired.  Please note that the installer also logs statistics of installing node in the following format, most of which are publicly available anyway, but nonetheless you should be aware:

"[04/06/08 20:13:46] Install-script_v2.0 - kk7av-cwid (Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS) IP: 65.41.209.137, call: kk7av, node: stn3515"

If, for whatever reason, you prefer not to have your stats logged, kk7av-cwid may be manually downloaded and installed as per the included INSTALL.txt file.

 * NOTE

This identifier script has been tested on various IRLP builds to include Red Hat 9, Fedora FC3, FC5, CentOS 4.4 and 4.5, and Ubuntu Dapper (6.06 LTS).  Enjoy!

Smile
